Hua Hin, Thailand 🇹🇭

Verified Digital Nomad Trip Report 📄

What is Hua Hin, Thailand like for Digital Nomads?

Find out in this Digital Nomad Trip Report covering 4 weeks in this coastal Thai city, described as the “Da Nang of Thailand”, and “Chiang Mai with a beach”…

📆 Time Spent

4 weeks

👥 Traveling As

Couple - Without Pets

📍 Location / Area

Hua Hin

🏡 Accommodation

Studio Condo (Airbnb)

🌐 Internet / Working

  • Wifi is strong everywhere

  • If you or need back up, SIM cards and data is very affordable

  • Plenty of Cafes with strong wifi too ☕

🗣️ Language: Thai

  • English is spoken everywhere but I learnt some basic greetings in Thai too

🌤️ Weather

  • Hot all year round, typically ranging from 26 degrees (December) up to 35 degrees (April)

  • June- September has chances of rain

  • Pretty humid all year round

🎟️ Public Transport & Infrastructure

Really easy

  • You can take a tuktuk

  • Flag down a shared tuktuk style truck

  • Order a car or bike via Grab app

  • Or if you want your own transport, you can hire a scooter for the equivalent of $5 a day

Things to do

  • Kitesurf or Wingfoil on Hua Hin beach

  • Explore the local National Park

  • Visit Temples and Caves

  • Enjoy street food markets and arts & crafts markets

📈 Best things

  • The affordability. Everything from the food, transport, activities, rent etc…

  • The 7km long beach of Hua Hin. Lovely to take a stroll along, relax, do water sports, horse-ride or sip a coconut and people watch 🥥

  • The people. There is a wonderful mix of locals and expats who are all so friendly & welcoming.

📉 Worst things

  • There doesn’t seem to be a a hub of 'digital/creative' nomads here.

It’s a great place to work but maybe not such a good place to network with other digital nomads.

Anything Else?

You can secure a really lovely studio or 1 bedroom apartment in many of the apartment blocks in Hua Hin.

Most of them have lovely maintained swimming pools, gyms and gardens - and they’re all very affordable.

If you plan on booking... book for longer than you think! You’ll realise how perfect this location is.

If you plan on drinking good coffee, doing some work, having a go at wind sports, and enjoying incredible local food… It’s place is for you.

-

I’d also recommend hiring a scooter & exploring further down the coast.

There’s wonderful secret beaches, caves and a National Park.

✅ Go here if…

  • You want to live well on a low budget, have access to great coffee shops, good markets and food, whilst also being by the beach.

  • There are also plenty of gyms if you are into your fitness.

  • Also go here if you enjoy kitesurfing or wingfoiling. I spent my time working in the morning, and wingfoiling in the afternoon.

❌ Avoid here if…

  • You want to meet creative digital nomads.
