There were no issues with the Wi-Fi in my apartment or in the many laptop-friendly cafes.
In general, the wifi speeds around Lisbon are fast.
The Venue Lisbon is my favourite cafe to work from (you should check it out on your next visit to Lisbon)
🗣️ Language: Portuguese
Knowing some basic Portuguese phrases will help but many people speak English, especially in the tourist areas.

During February the weather was mild but rainy.
I am looking forward to spring. Lisbon has pleasant temperatures from March to May and fewer tourists compared to summer.
Things to do
So many things to do in Lisbon but surfing in Caparica or Carcavelos is one of my favorite things.
Watch the sunset on the beach at some of my favourite beaches; Praia de São Pedro do Estoril or Irmão Beach Club near Rainha Beach
You can also enjoy a cocktail at Memo Hotel Rooftop in the Alfama area
📈 Best things
Lisbon has a great community for digital nomads and remote workers - you can easily meet up and join many events here.
I love how close the city is to the beach — you can enjoy both the convenience of city life and the quiet and peaceful nature
If you love seafood, it's very affordable and delicious here
📉 Worst things
Public transportation can sometimes be a nightmare, but you have Bolt or Uber as options.
Bureaucracy and paperwork here are a nightmare too, it's just slow and not clear
Many houses get super cold inside during December, and January due to no central heating so if you come in the off-season, bring layers!
Anything Else?
I absolutely adore Lisbon! Over the past three years of my slow nomadic life, I keep returning to this charming and lively city.
Even in winter, which some find challenging, it doesn't phase me, maybe because I've lived in the Netherlands, Finland, and the UK where rain and cold are the norms.
Plus, for digital nomads, Lisbon is incredibly welcoming, with plenty of activities and a great community.

You don't like to walk up hills — it’s quite steep and hilly here in the city!
You don't drink wine — it’s just so good to miss out on!
